Brazil’s soybean meal exports exceed

As per data presented by Brazil’s Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX), in the first half of May 2026, soybean meal exports from Brazil have outstripped the volumes recorded during the same timeframe last year. Between May 1 and May 15, the export volume of soybean meal reached 1.381 million tonne (mt), in contrast to the 2.33 mt exported throughout the entire month of May 2025.

As a significant global supplier of soybean meal, Brazil’s export volume hit 1.381 mt in the first half of May 2026, representing nearly 60 percent of the total volume exported in May 2025. This rate of export is considerably quicker than that of the same period last year, indicating a rise in international demand for soybean meal and offering some support to spot market prices, as stated by SECEX.

Traders say that following the data, in the futures market, the benchmark September 2026 soybean meal contract (2609) on the Dalian Commodity Exchange concluded at 3,038 RMB per tonne on May 19, 2026, an increase of 38 RMB per tonne from the previous trading day. With open interest surpassing 2.54 million lots and significant trading activity, the anticipation of strong external demand is also lending positive support to soybean meal futures prices.
