BIRC 2026 Gains Global Momentum as Registrations Cross 19,000 Ahead of October Event
The second edition of the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2026 is already drawing remarkable global attention, with registrations surpassing 19,000 nearly three months before the event. Scheduled to take place from October 23–25, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, the conference is shaping up to be one of the most significant international gatherings for the rice industry.
According to the latest figures released by the organisers, more than 19,193 participants have registered so far, including over 2,100 international buyers, reflecting the growing importance of India as the world’s leading producer and exporter of rice. With delegates expected from over 120 countries, the conference is projected to welcome more than 30,000 participants, bringing together stakeholders from across the global rice value chain.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition in 2025, BIRC has quickly established itself as a key platform for industry engagement. The previous conference attracted 10,854 participants, including 1,083 overseas buyers from more than 90 countries, and helped facilitate trade commitments estimated at ₹33,453 crore, covering approximately 8.63 million metric tonnes of rice. An independent post-event assessment by EY also recognised it as the world’s largest dedicated rice conference in terms of scale and participation.
Unlike a conventional trade exhibition, BIRC is designed to create meaningful business opportunities by combining trade networking, market intelligence, policy dialogue and technical knowledge under one roof. The conference provides a platform where exporters, importers, policymakers, researchers, millers, technology providers and other industry stakeholders can exchange ideas, explore partnerships and gain insights into evolving global market trends.
The 2026 edition is expected to introduce several new features aimed at strengthening business planning and market intelligence.
