Kyrgyzstan’s first shipment of corn to China
As announced by the Department of Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, the country has sent its first shipment of corn to China.
The first batch of 25 tonne of corn has been shipped on March 16. The exporter was Ziyabidin Ata farm. The export was made possible through the implementation of the protocol on phytosanitary requirements for corn exported from Kyrgyzstan to China.
Notably, the deal was signed on September 15, 2022, between the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic and the General Administration of Customs of China. So far, two domestic enterprises have received the right to export corn to China.
The event showcases the department’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the country’s export capabilities and ensuring adherence to international phytosanitary standards. The department will persist in its support for local producers to increase the visibility of Kyrgyzstan’s agricultural products in international markets, official sources stated.
