During this meeting, the ministry provided a comprehensive presentation that clarified how the cooperative-based dairy framework not only fosters a sustainable food system but also serves as an effective model for a circular economy.
While presenting the proposal those village-level cooperative societies is connected to insurance services, which would encompass coverage for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, he emphasized that such a system would offer social security and financial ease to rural households. The establishment of three multi-state cooperative societies dedicated to the dairy sector in the country has been finalized. The aim is to ensure that a cooperative entity is operational at every panchayat level and that a dairy with milk processing capabilities is set up in each district.
He mentioned that dairy technology courses would soon be launched at Tribhuvandas Cooperative University in Anand. The initiative is expected to equip the industry with skilled human resources and facilitate the nationwide replication of the successful Banas Dairy model. This approach will help lower production costs and enhance soil quality over time. Additionally, the meeting addressed the potential for increasing mutual trade and investment through cooperative institutions, which could significantly expand the rural economy, particularly in the milk production sector, stated the Union Minister.
